Larimar Rough Slabs - 4 Ounces
Once again, we have a beautiful, unique and affordable stone to offer!
These are the classic Domican Republic larimar, slabbed for easy lapidary work. This is not the highest grade: they are solid pieces with blue color and very little matrix, but the blue tends to be paler with less pattern, other minerals are included, and the pieces are less gemmy and more opaque, and priced accordingly. With a Mohs hardness of about 5, these thick pieces are easy for lapidaries to work, and can make great cabs and other jewelry or ornaments.
Thickness of slices is between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thick; the vast majority are just about 3/8" thick for easy lapidary work.
Size: from about 1 inch up to 4 inches long. Random shapes; no pre-forms. Some of the best pieces from this grade are shown in the photos.
2-8 pieces of varying weights per each 4-ounce lot. Most have 4 pieces.
Mined in the Dominican Republic.
